An Exhilarating Weekend of Riding Together with the Noida Cycling Club

After a brief pause in weekend rides, the Noida Cycling Club (NCC) roared back into action on January 10 and 11 with a memorable two-day weekend of rides that brought together new riders, regulars, and weekend warriors, all united by their love for cycling, fitness, and shared experiences on the saddle.

Saturday: Easy Spin & Beginners Ride (20 km)

Saturday morning was all about ease and welcoming riders back into the NCC rhythm. The Beginners Ride and Easy Spin was designed for new cyclists and those returning after a break, focusing on confidence-building rather than speed.

Rolling out from the Great India Place (GIP) at 6:30 am, the group maintained a relaxed pace as the city slowly woke up. Conversations flowed easily as riders made their way toward the Yamuna riverbank trails. The calm surroundings, minimal traffic, and open views created a stress-free environment, perfect for beginners.

The section near Okhla Bird Sanctuary was a highlight. Riders took a short breather here, spending 10-15 minutes soaking in the quiet surroundings and taking photos of the picturesque view.

At 20 km, the ride proved that distance doesn’t define the experience. For many first-timers, this was their longest or most comfortable group ride yet.

One rider shared, “I was nervous riding in a group for the first time, but the pace and support made it really enjoyable. I’m definitely coming back.”

The ride wrapped up at GIP by 8:15 am, followed by chai and light snacks at a nearby stall — an essential NCC ritual where introductions were made and weekend plans were exchanged.

Sunday: Conquering the Iconic Delhi Ridge (48 km)

Sunday raised the bar, attracting riders looking for steady miles and classic Delhi terrain,  as NCC members rode to the iconic Delhi Ridge and followed a popular cycling loop in the area.

The group rolled out from GIP at 7:00 am, cruising smoothly past Akshardham as the sunrise lit up the roads. The pace was controlled but purposeful, with riders rotating pulls and encouraging each other through the longer stretches.

Reaching Bounty Ridge near Delhi University, the group spent about 10 minutes regrouping, hydrating, and enjoying the shaded climbs that make the ridge such a favourite among NCC riders. The rolling terrain tested endurance but rewarded riders with cool air, greenery, and uninterrupted stretches of riding.

A brief food stop on the return leg gave riders a chance to bond over snacks and coffee. They shared stories, laughs, and plans for upcoming rides. The 48 km ride concluded at GIP around 9:30 am, with tired legs, satisfied smiles, and the unmistakable post-ride buzz that only a good group ride delivers.

Back Where We Belong

This weekend wasn’t just about routes or distances, it was about the Noida Cycling Club coming back together. From beginners finding their rhythm on Saturday to committed riders pushing strong miles on Sunday, the energy was unmistakable.

The rides ended with shared laughter, a sense of accomplishment, and renewed motivation — exactly how Noida Cycling Club weekends are meant to feel. With wheels turning again and the community growing stronger, this weekend marked not just a return, but a fresh start.

See you on the road next weekend: same passion, stronger rides, and many more kilometres ahead.

REVIEW
  • NCC - the name is synonymous with zeal and passion of the ever growing cycling community in Noida. This platform not only helps the regular riders but also aims in strengthening the amateur riders like me. It's a delight to be a part of weekend rides, which include riders from all ages. While someone has rightly mentioned: 'Four wheels move the body, two-wheels ride the soul' I would like to add to this by saying, " Riding two-wheels with engine is easy. The real power comes when you paddle and become its engine." That's what cycling does to you. Noida Cycling Club is not just a community to increase number of riders, it ensure the safety, comfort and building confidence in all its members to have a prodigious riding experience. Well done to the ride coordinators, who act as the back bone of this Club.

Aman Puri , the Chief Cycling Officer runs a great YouTube page and INCUBATES certain riders to take over the mantle from him while he develops his branded/customised biking store in Noida . There are certain issues within NCC members w.r.t leadership roles but that merely causes a rating of 4/5 nothing else. Their WhatsApp group is very strict too, think a hundred times before clicking on the link to add yourself. Thanks . Hope this helped .
