Sunday rides with the Noida Cycling Club (NCC) are always something to look forward to. But the outing with the NCC on Sunday, April 10, was extra- special- the club organised a memorable ride to commemorate its 11th year of riding. In the past 11 years, the Noida Cycling Club has encouraged thousands of cyclists to pedal their way to fitness, making people healthy, strong and lead an active lifestyle. Numerous people are thankful to the club for giving them a new lease of life and initiating a transformation in their lifestyle. For many of these people life used to revolve around going work and coming back home. The NCC turned cycling and fitness into their passion and made it a part of their identities. 

The anniversary-special ride on April 10 began from Noida’s Great India Place and ended at the Noida Gate, with a get-together at the shop of Khan Market’s popular Chai-pakora vendor in between. The turnout was enormous; more than a 100 participants from different places turned up to be a part of the celebration. The celebration was all over the NCC Social Media handles, which drew all of the riders in and compelled them to partake in this historic ride. Higher participation entails greater responsibility, and the NCC administrators and the core team exhibited their competence. The male riders cheering their female counterparts to put in their best made a heartening sight. 

At 5:30 am, it was still dark. The weather was cool, the road was silent but the riders’ bike lights and sounds of their conversation made the ambience very pleasurable. The bandwagon left the starting point and proceeded to their first destination, Indraprastha Park, where they made their first stop.

Posing with their bikes and other riders, everyone was having a good time as they clicked pictures. All eyes were on the cyclists as they coursed through the capital’s roads. The sight of such a large gathering prompted bystanders to take photos of them and encourage them on.

Riders were enjoying each other’s company as they approached the popular Khan market chai wallah, making the site much more noteworthy. Tea, pakoras, and unrestricted conversation were on the menu. The welcome break rejuvenated the riders for the remainder of the journey.

Sounds of cheerful conversation and laughter filled up the streets of khan market. Faces lighted up with excitement, and cheers for the Noida Cycling Club floated through the air. The fun-filled moments were perfectly captured on camera. 

After spending around 40 minutes at the site, the riders prepared to cycle back to their destination. The moment had arrived for everyone to jump back on their saddles and pedal back home. The serene roads allowed riders to enjoy their trip back with a beaming smile and unrivalled excitement. The NCC team continued to make sure that no one had any problems and that everything was in order during the ride. 

After reaching the designated Akshardham loop, many riders signed up for future NCC rides and provided feedback. 

“Thank you for organising the ride; it allows all of the riders who have taken a prolonged pause in their careers to make a comeback,” a rider said.

Cyclists waved at each other and expressed gratitude to the NCC team and administrators for organising the anniversary-special ride.

The NCC commemorated the day by distributing a goodie bag sponsored by Steadfast Nutrition, which included a Steadfast Sports-emblazoned tee, a coffee mug, an E certificate, and a medal of pride to remind riders of this incredible day.
